Hi. Im not asking for new or separate overlay channels between mix inputs. Forgive please my bad english. See please if you want my photos
mix1.png (22kb) downloaded 0 time(s).
we have for example shortcut A that enables the overlay1 channel for input 3 to be shown only in main mix. We enable it and it is ok
mix5.png (23kb) downloaded 0 time(s).
Now we have shortcut B that enables the overlay1 channel to be shown for input 3 into mix inputs 1,2,3. We press the shortcut B but overlay1 channel stays only on main mix doesnt also enable on mix2 and mix3. Same happens if in shortcut we check "2,3" so the same vmix input that is allready active on,doesnt disable from mix 1 and enable to "mix 2 and 3"

BUT..
mix3.png (21kb) downloaded 0 time(s).
If the overlay1 channel that is allready enabled and running on for main mix and input 3, we do another input as overlay1 channel for mix inputs 2 and 3 only it will close for main mix and will open for mix inputs
So is bug or by design that the same input that is allready overlay1 ON in a mix cannot be "jump" between the mixes?
Because in the locked "Suggestion for overlays" thread you write " if you try to enable Overlay 1 when it is already active, it will just move to where you have enabled it." so according to this. shortcut B shouldnt be work?
Thanks for any answer

Hi,

This is logical because there is only one Overlay 1 channel and therefore it can only transition "In" once, regardless of what combination of Mixes are set in the shortcut.

So in the case of the provided examples:

A) Overlay 1 is not currently active anywhere, so the transition will work as expected.

B) This will do nothing, as the Overlay 1 is already active somewhere. (you can't do different transitions for separate mixes at different times, as it is only a single overlay channel)

C) This will turn off the Overlay and transition In again because you have changed the Input used. This is the same behavior if you had changed the input, but only assigned the Mix 1 like previous vMix versions.

Thank you. There is logic in what you say and of course there exist ways to do what i say. In other terms personally for me Vmix 28 is the best vmix ever. Vmix 27 that as big hype had zoom integration,is not something i personally really care
BUT.. In Vmix 28 this "flatten layer thing" and the overlays for mix inputs it goes the layer composite 100% UP and the "on playback time" triggers is really WOW on how can be combined and all these for me at least very usefull! Thank you for your great work

Would it be possible to tweak this behavior so that already active Overlays are shown/hidden on subsequent mixes, rather than transitioned?

Similar to the behavior of the output overlay settings.

That way, it can show the same overlay channel across multiple mixes.
