I'm using an old music player, lately I can't hear any sound at all or sometimes it's very faint. I tested the cord on another device and it still sounds fine.
Does anyone know what the cause is? Is the cord socket damaged or something?

Yeah, you've got a cord but what type of cord? You haven't said anything about how it's connected to vMix at all. Describe the physical connection types (RCA, XLR, 1/4 Inch jack, 1/8 inch jack, USB...), what kind of equipment it's connected to to get the sound into the computer etc.
