Overlay of grouped pictures not working correctly
Martin
I have noticed if I bring in a folder of png files to be used as lower thirds as a overlay it doesn't work right. You can advance through the pictures but when you press a overlay number it will always show the first picture. You can have say picture 15 up in the preview window but when using a overlay it will go back to the first one and show that one only.

Greg

Sorry for this post I found my problem but thought I would leave this post instead of trying to get rid of it. I had to go into the settings and uncheck automatically restart with transition.

Thanks Martin.

It says something like "SafeHandle-target is closed".

I did now also use the "Send Error Report" -button (August 9th) so you may get additional info from it.

Kind regards,

I was waiting for more audio codecs in RTSP stream input, but there is only AAC support in v10?
ONVIF standard IP security cameras have G.711 or G.726 audio codecs, I tested some megapixel IP cameras and only work disabling audio stream in menu.

I dont know if this issue is related to vMix 10:

When enabling "Synchronise Output with Refresh Rate" feature and Fullscreen, I get dropped frames (recording, virtual capture, decklink). After disbaling this feature and enabling Fullscreen, there are no dropped frames.

Secondary display is 1920x1080 60Hz 32bit.

Working with one 1280x720 50p input in 1280x720 50p mode with Win7, i7 3770k, GT 640.

Synchronise Output with Refresh Rate should only ever be used
when using XP or when Windows 7 is not running in Aero mode.

I think Im not running Aero mode since Windows has been adjusted for best performance instead of appearance.
Not an important issue, just wanted to report.

Hi Dundurs,

vMix runs best in Aero mode, so you should turn it back on where possible.
(Unless the graphics card is not very powerful)

Hi Martin, I have updated to the last VMIX version and I'm checking it. There are some issues I've detected:

Titles, Texts and Tickers are pixelated. I have tested this in two different computers and the result is the same. You have a sample here:

UserPostedImage

Also loading a previous recorded preset with an animated ticker, the ticker shows the demo text: "Lorem ipsum dolor sit..." instead the animated Ticker and title typed before. In this case you need to enter inside the title editor and select your text and change the duration.

As a suggestion, It would be good if we can change the Cropping controls with numbers, not only with the sliders, in the same way we do with Zoom and Pan.

Regards

Fernando

Hi Fernando,

Where is the screenshot taken from? The fullscreen output or somewhere else?

Please double check the Output Size you have in vMix settings and report back.
Also check the Preview Size in settings.

Martin

Hi Martin,
the screenshot is taken from the fullscreen. The output size is configured at 1280x720, the same as the screen monitor. This preset was created with VMIX9 and we have been using it without this issue. You can check it running live with VMIX 9 here:

Example of streaming with the text OK

And a video recorded today with the same preset in our studio (same computer, same cameras...) loaded in VMIX10:
Same Preset but with VMIX10

In this video you see the pixelation both in the Animated TitleHD and in the Ticker.

I have noticed that the pixelation occurs also with a new title if I change the scale to fit it in the main window (must see the video to understand) Main -> ZOOM x = Zoom y = 0,6565. This is something I usually did without the pixelation in the text and in the shape and borders.

I hope this can help.

Regards
Fernando

Hi Fernando,

Please note some settings are different in vMix 10, so loading the vMix 9 preset will not set the resolution automatically.
Double check all the resolutions in vMix under Settings -> Display as well as Settings -> External Output if you are streaming
as there are now separate resolutions that need to be configured.

Martin

Also, if you could email me the custom titles you are using I can see if there
is something strange there that might affect the rendering of titles.

Hi Martin.
Triple Checked the resolutions. Everything is 1280x720.
Trying new alternatives, I've opened a new fresh Preset and added the animated HD Title that comes with VMIX, the same I'm using in my preset(not a custom preset). The loss of quality is the same that with my preset. It decreases when I apply negative zoom (less than 1) to the Title in the position options.

Regards
Fernando

hi LaserHarp and Admin,

LaserHarp, is your graphic card an ATI? i have the same behaviour here, no matter settings i have selected on the catalyst control panel.

this occurs when the vMix output resolution doesn`t matter with screen resolution.

melody

Hi Fernando,

Could you try the following tests as I would like to get to the bottom of this problem:

1. On vMix 9, add the NewsHD title and select it as the main output.
2. Click the camera icon in the bottom right hand corner of vMix and save as vmix9.png
3. Go to Settings and click Export and save as vmix9.config

Follow the same steps above in vMix 10 saving to vmix10.png and vmix10.config

Email these to us at info@vmix.com.au and I will be able to work out what is happening between these versions.

Thanks for your help,

Regards,

Martin

Hi Martin. I only have in the computer VMix 10. I would need to install the VMIX 9 version to do the tests you want me to run. Is posible to have the two versions intalled at the same time?
Anyway, I think that the problem is with Vmix 10 because the loss of quality is happening loading an empty VMix 10 preset, adding a title and applying negative zoom.
Regates.

Hi Melody. My GPU is GeForce, so I think is not a graphic card issue.
