I can heartily recommend the M-Audio M-Track Eight as a good budget priced audio interface for VMIX. I have been using this using for about 4 weeks now, and can higly recomend it to anybody that wants a good quality, budget priced audio interface for their VMIX platform. It supports up to 8 microphone/line inputs, and 8 line outputs (4 Stereo) which is perfect for VMIX (1+2 = headphones, 3+4 Main Out, 5+6 Aux A, and 7 & 8 Aux B. Its very much plug and play through USB, and I have managed to get it to run with minimum buffer size, to almost zero latency.

Hi Keith,

Are you still using Virtual Audio Cables in your setup? If so are all the inputs and outputs seen by VAC?

Thanks,

Mike.

Hi,
I have the same audio interface but I cannot set the desired buffer.
Any buffer size I set in M-audio control panel I have the same (high!) latency in Vmix.

I tried Reaper on the same PC and setting of the buffer works well (near zero latency on 64 buffer size)

Thank you

Stefano

I tried a Motu Audio Xpress Card and the buffer size is correctly used by Vmix, but I really need the 8 channels of M-Audio...

Hello Keith,
I cannot make that card work in my setup....

Can you lower the buffer from M-Audio control panel?
If I move the slider nothing happens on vmix (OK in other software) and my latency is steady at about 1000 samples

I have a job in the week end and I would like to use the card, but that latency makes it unusable

Thank you

Stefano

Keith,
I just ordered an M-Audio M-Track Eight based on your comment above. I see that some are having issues with latency. How do you get around this on your system?

Hi Everyone

I may have got my M-TRACK EIGHT to work with vMix..

having just built my system.. I couldn't get it to work.
I know Keith and he has been a gem helping me.

I went into the C:\Program Files (x86)\M-Audio\M-Track Eight folder and copied all the .dll files and pasted them into the vMix folder
C:\Program Files (x86)\vMix

rebooted and BOOM.. I had sound

there IS still a latency issue which I am emailing M-Audio about. Not sure why it keeps streaming then not streaming in its control panel.

Hope this helps

Darren

Hello. With the sound card, I did not have problems initially, but I have another question! (it's just a driver to install correctly correctly) How to connect to it VST3 plug-ins that are licensed with it in the package ??? I've already tested several varieties, but vMix requires plugins in the plugins that it does not recognize and the plugins option is locked. VST plugins work in other applications, the driver on M-Audio is the latest version and vMix recognizes it and works great - and what to do with plugins ????
