Hello there.
I am new to vMix and the forum so I'm wondering if anybody here can help me?
We have set up a multicam system using wireless security cameras on a Local Area Network using Ubiqiti radio networking.
It seems to work fine with each camera coming in as it's own input via the stream input setting on vMix.
We now have a request to add a broadcast camera to the network using either HDMI or SDI output.
Running cables is not possible so is there a way to take the signal out of the camera and convert it into a IP addressable signal on the network?

Hi

you need an NDI converter
Check Bird-Dog for full quality : http://www.bird-dog.tv/
Or Newtek Connect Spark for compressed signal : https://www.newtek.com/connect/spark/

Or you can simply use a laptop with capture device next to the SDI cam, it will do the conversion to NDI for LAN use.
See https://www.newtek.com/ndi/applications/

However since SDI allows to run up to 200m cables and ETH is only 100m, I'm wondering if going for IP streaming is the best solution

or encode the HDMI stream to IP and treat the input exactly the same as your other IP cameras...
