We have been using vMix on a mac pro 3,1 8 core xeon 2.8gHz - windows 10 bootcamp using Blackmmagic Decklink Studio and more recently a Duo 2.
Mostly just for streaming a show but we record it too.
Not tried external capture devices, but this old mac doesnt really have anything up to the job. PCI cards only.

Started streaming with Wirecast running on Macbook Pros, liked the features and support of vMix so we added win10 on Bootcamp and switched to vmix.
Have a couple of i7 16gb 2013 macbook pros with nvidia GPUs running vmix with thunderbolt sonnet box with BMD duo and also BMD mini recorders.

Also have custom built pc vmix racks now, but the macbook pros are still being used for mobile setups and work great - never had an issue with them. It is great to be able to boot in mac os and edit with FCPX or run Titler Live Broadcast via NDI for live graphics.

We have occasionally used a top-specced MacBook Pro 15" (Late 2017). Bootcamp and vMix work well together and we have found that vMix supports the Radeon Pro 560.

We haven't yet tested it side by side with our other laptops equipped with Geforce GTX 1060, but it seems to perform really well.
