So, do MIDI controls work if Vmix isn't "in focus" as the windows that is in use? So if I have clicked into a browser, can I still use the keys for shortcuts? I know that I can with the web controller.

I often bounce between many different windows and my assistant is in charge of lower thirds. Currently he uses an Ipad and the web controller, but I would like him to get a feel for a real board. I got the Elgato one, but it only works if Vmix is the in-focus window.

Thoughts?

Hi Jon

in a word "yes".

I love the Akai APC Mini but other solutions like Novation and others are fully implemented in vMix.
Check this demo video I did if you want : https://forums.vmix.com/....aspx?g=posts&t=9765
