Hello,

Has anyone tried this out with Vmix and had a problem or good experience.

They say they are for MAC, but I can't find anything 2 port for PC. Not sure if the MAC in the title matters or Thunderbolt 3 is Thunderbolt 3 and the OS makes no difference.

https://www.sonnetstore....roducts/echo-express-se3

Anyway very interested to hear from someone who is using this or even it's prior model with Vmix.

If you can suggest an alternative I'm all ears.

I want a nice portable thunberbolt 3 chassis to add an 4 Port PCI Magewell HDMI Capture card, Plus a 4 Port PCI Magewell SDI Capture card into.

Portable + Reliable. I would rather not buy two single card chassis, which seem to be around the place.

Thanks,

Speegs

Take a look at the chart on the link below shows PC support for capture cards, but not for Magewell.

http://www.sonnettech.com/suppo...s/thunderbolt/index.html

Perhaps Sonnet tech support hasn't tested them?

I have a 2 slot TB2 version of the Sonnet Echo and it works fine with my Asus TB1 laptop and my Acer TB3 laptop. I do get a warning message that the equipment is not certified for use with Windows, but it works fine. I have only run across one issue - If I accidentally unplug the Sonnet Echo while cameras are connected to vMix, it locks up the system and I am forced to reboot. I discovered this while setting up for a job. Once the show started, I made sure not to mess with the plug. Other than that, it works fine.

The expensive way to find out is to buy one and try it, I've emailed Sonnet Tech Support they are yet to respond. Thought I'd ask the forum. They are more reliable than sales people :)

It's good news the older version works anyway. There is a "chance" the new version works.

It's only been about 6 hours so will give them more time to respond.

Got this back from Sonnet: Our Thunderbolt 3 SE III is not supported on Windows so you will need to go with either, one of Thunderbolt 2 enclosures or multiple Echo Express SE I TB3. The reason for this is that the PCIe bridge chip used in the SE III TB3 is not supported on Windows.

Looks like there is no way to make it go at least at the moment.

I have the SE III thunderbolt 2 version, it works fine with multiple cards, and you can use corning opticle cables and place it far away if needed. I have been using it for 2 years with aja cards. Look for a used one on ebay.
