Hi,

We are using vMix in a lot of configurations with PTZ cameras (Panasonic and Sony Visca Over IP).

One lacking feature that would be very, very cool to have is tally on these cameras.

With the vMix way of handling PTZ cameras and positions, there is multiple virtual inputs that are the same PTZ camera with different position preset. So even if we use external tally systems or the API, one PTZ camera tally can be mapped to numerous vMix inputs according to what is done in the project. Not easy to manage outside vMix.

What would be nice is vMix sending the tally info to the camera when any of this camera position is on air.

I have been using Cuebi lights in this situation, they work very well and are so tiny they are easily attached to a ptz. I do not control ptz via vMix but what you are describing probably works just fine.
