Looking at this laptop for vMix with the AJA I/O 4k Thunderbolt and a Behringer UMC202

https://www.asus.com/ca-...ix-GL703/specifications/

OR this one

http://www.dell.com/en-c...ienware-17-laptop?~ck=bt

Any recommendations on if one is better than the other?

The ASUS GL703 does not specifically mention Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt in either the specifications or overview.

Which Alienware model were you looking at? There are four (4) on the page.

Hopefully Windows 10 Pro is an option for both.

Yeah, I just noticed that the GL703 doesn't mention Thunderbolt, which is weird because teh GL702 is the Sapphire Reference System.

I'd go with the Dell that starts at $2299 and upgrade to Windows 10 Pro and 16GB RAM.

Buying today I would opt for one with a 8th gen Intel six-core processor like the one in the new Alienware 15 and 17 inch.

Furthermore, the new Alienware looks to have discarded Optimus in favor of G-Sync which is favorable when buying a system for vMix.
thanks 1 user thanked niemi for this useful post.

All great suggestions, ended up going with the Asus ROG series 703 model (one up from the reference system) and it handled things nicely yesterday!
