Hi there,

I use an Yamaha MG12XU audio mixer with USB interface wich works fine but does not seem to work with vMix. It is definately a Vmix issue as audio input/output to de PC as such works fine. But As soon as I start vMix only crap comes out of vMix.

Sometimes when I reset the audio input it looks like to work fine and then after a minute or so the drama starts all over again.

The input via USB then still works fine (when I enable the 'listen to' option in the recording device options) and the audio other than that from vMix also comes out perfectly.

It looks like vMix is having a problem with the sample frequency as (apart from the pumping distortion) the audio seems to be pitched up. May be from 44.1kHz to 48kHz(?)

Somebody any ideas?

Thanks,
Peter.

Are you using this as an ASIO device?

You might want to try with generic Asio drivers : Asio4All

I'm not sure it makes a difference but it solved problems others were having.

Most asio drivers are really optimized for absolute realtime in general for music production vith a DAW. Did you try "smoothing" things a bit ? Loosing a few ms is not a big deal, vMix will not suffer from having + 10 ms in latency.

Thanks Guillaume,

I downloaded the driver (V1.9.10-2) from:

http://www.yamahaproaudi...firmware_software/mg_xu/

But now it turns out that there is a newer version (V1.10.0) on:

https://www.steinberg.ne...teinberg_usb_driver.html

How weird that the Yamaha site (the mixer brand) is not up-to-date while the driver is dated December 28, 2017! Anyway, the first tests look fine. So far no problems with the newest driver. I'm happy. :-)

Cheers,
Peter.

There might be an "official" manufacturer driver and another one developped by Steinberg.
I can understand if Yamaha would not show the competition solution in this case.

Anyway, if you're happy finally, that's the main thing to take into account!

Have fun!

Steinberg is part of the Yamaha company, so no competition...
