Some may have followed our ongoing discussion in the "feature request" forum, but now it's time to announce the first alpha version of my scheduling tool "vMixScheduler" officially:

UserPostedImage

The mission, if you accept it, is to setup a list of video, audio and image files an run vMix automatically like a broadcasting station. You can find out more about this application on my website (just ignore all the other stuff there, it's in german, and about 3D filming...):

http://www.weir3d.de/film/vMixScheduler

If you want to see the alpha-version in action, you can also watch a short demo-video on youtube:

Have fun!

Thanks for the thanks!

Now I'm going to pause developement until we have vMix 10, but let's gather things you'd like to change or add when I'm back to coding... ok?

I am actually testing vMix scheduler by our one and only mighty @MacJaeger now at http://www.fusionplustv.com/live (anyone can take a look at it, i am going to leave it to run for as long as i can for now)

It's not bad at all for a program put together in less than a month, what an effort...

Fingers crossed till when vMix v10 is released, i guess one or two more functionality needs to be added.

Thanks for this piece of hard work.

Regards,
Rottimmy

I had a look at your page... is the video playing there scheduled by vMixScheduler? Cool, if so!

I'd appreciate a few hints what modifications would be usefull, so that i can have some five percent of my grey matter thinking about this in a background task... ;-)

Hello @macjaeger,

I think the scheduler will need a feature called "Filler"

This is where you put some videos, e.g. adverts, music or short documentaries to fill in the gap pending when the scheduler is waiting for the next video scheduled for a particular time.

Assuming i scheduled my videos for today and the 1st video starts at 00:00:00 midnight, but the time now is 07:23am and my current video at the time starts around 07:00am in the scheduler and my next starts at 08:00am, if you noticed, the scheduler will be waiting for the next video just after the 07:23am...just because it cannot play the video that's half way at the time i pushed the schedule.

Instead of using the now button which adjust the the entire time. The scheduler can start playing the videos in the filler, from 07:23am until the next available video on the controller and automatically switch to the scheduler since it cannot start a video in the middle.

I hope you i tried making myself clear enough with the above...

regards,
Rottimmy

Yeah, i understand your point. I didn't expect someone to schedule "just in time", so i didn't take precautions for that event. But maybe i have an other solution ... ;-)

Ok, how about this: if an event is already past its starting time when it gets scheduled vMixControler will fastforward to the position where it should be right then.

Try: http://www.weir3d.de/fil...ixScheduler_alpha_02.zip

The fastforwarding will actually wait a couple of seconds to let vMix load the file, so give it a moment.

Oh, and i added a little something: you can now select multiple videoclips at once.

Brilliant I will demo it later, both additions are great...

Your solution of fast forwarding is fantastic...

Multiple file selection is also a bomb... For lazy guys like me ( lol )

I will get back to you after the demo later today...

Rottimmy

Did you set the date right? Your schedule seems to start at may 30th, while it's already may 31st!

Hmm, that's strange. It shouldn't take longer than 10 seconds to start - actually as long as you set in settings dialog. Are you sure you are running the newer version? I guess i should view the version-string somewhere...

I can't find your problem, it's working for me.

Please try again with: http://www.weir3d.de/files/VMSupdate02.zip

If this doesn't work either, try clearing the schedule before you schedule the next clips (shouldn't be necessary, just a precaution). Or try another clip. Also confirm that the clip in question is actually playable in vMix - maybe vMix couldn't find, couldn't open, or couldn't decode the clip?
