I was playing around today with using VLC to run a loop of video over the network to test performance and reach. Turns out that VLC was lagging horribly. vMix? - runs beautifully of course! jittery video suddenly played like butter.

Not much to work off here. Need to know a bit more about the media file specs (like codec, frame size, frame rate), network setup and performance of the VLC system. Also, is the VLC system 32 or 64-bit? NDI performance is better when everything is 64-bit.

I use VLC Player with the NDI plug-in all of the time (usually running multiple instants of VLC) and it works great.
