I’ve scheduled a Live Video from within Facebook – there doesn’t seem to be a way to do this directly from VMix – but it’s not clear exactly how to integrate VMix with this specific event.

Obviously, you could just start a live broadcast at the time specified, onto the right Facebook page, but this won’t connect up with the pre-scheduled event, and with those people who may be waiting “at” the event expecting the video to start.

Any guidance gratefully received.

Just set up a stream in vMix as a Custom profile, using the URL and key provided by Facebook. Start the streamer before the event (say 10 minutes), and it will automatically go live at the scheduled time.
