Hi.
I´m about to buy a new laptop for VMix. The videocard I use is a Blackmagic Duo 2 installed in a Sonnet's Echo Express SE II (PCIe to Thunderbolt).

The two laptop models I´m choosen between are the Dell XPS 15 (9560) I7,16GB, Nvidia 1050 & MSI GS63VR, I7, 16 GB, Nvidia 1060.
I´m entend to use the laptop with VMix but also as a business machine (Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop/InDesign).

Can you guys help me to choose the best laptop for me?

One thing to consider when buying a laptop is what you can expect if it needs service.

I had a very nice new MSI computer recently that had some issues (one was that the USB c port was recessed too far and would not connect)
I had a service policy with the store, but they said that they had to send it to MSI (because the company won't send them parts), and that they send it off continent, so it would likely be several weeks or a month until I got it back.

Because of my service contract they allowed me to turn it in for full credit, and I bought an Asus, that they could repair in-house if need be.

So, this should at least be weighed into any equipment purchase.

I would go for the reference recommendation, the ASUS ROG Strix GL502VM. One that has thunderbolt 3.

If it needs to more mobile, then the XPS 15 would probably be my choice.

However, be aware:

- No RJ45-port
- Numerous BSOD-reports
- No G-SYNC.

The many BSOD-reports might come down to driver issues, in which case it may be solved.
