We had our VMix Pro computer stolen from us after a basketball game last Friday. We are devastated! Here is the local news story.

Unfortunately not. Our policy did not cover our equipment because it was taken outside our office. Life lesson learned on getting the right insurance moving forward.

@ PrepSpin

That totally sucks my friend.
Although it is no consolation now, I was given this piece of advice years ago, and that is NOT to outfit your equipment vehicle with any type of promotional and/or advertising propaganda that identifies you as a Media/Video/Film company, it's a beacon to thieves that there is likely thousands of dollars of professional equipment inside.
As a business owner, that's a tough call because it's important to get the word out and present yourself professionally and one of the best ways to do that is to advertise on your vehicle.
That's not to say that is what has happened here, just a word of advice moving forward, or at least know that an "ID'd" and loaded 'Company' vehicle cannot be left unattended.

Keep us all posted...
(I hope they catch the bastards)

That really sucks. I had my first Mac laptop stolen about 12 years ago that had all my video and photos on it.
Lucky had some backups but took a while get another computer to replace it. Was devastated.

But lesson learned from it I never leave my laptop in the car or nothing is in sight and is covered up.
I make sure I backup everything up to external and cloud now. I'm also using Dropbox to sync the entire production
across multiple computers so if one not working I can change it over, by placing the Dropbox folder at C:\dropbox
so that all the assets have the same location paths when you open Vmix on the other computer.

I hope you get your stuff back.

That must hurt! We are always fearing something like this will happen one day..

We try to minimise the risk by not marking our cars, but we also often leave our car unguarded when we go to eat something.. Hope it turns out well for you!
