Having big issues with V17 Bad quality streaming and recording

I am really having issues with version 17. I have used vmix for like 4 years and only had minor hiccups I can generally figure out. However, with version 17 my render times are choppy from 0 -40ms at times. It creates horrible live video and recordings. Its only a real issues when its streaming and recording. But I like to record my live shows for replay. I read on the performance to note on here to change the recording to MPEG2 but when I record that way there is not volume. I have an I7 processor I even just upgraded my graphics card to a GTX 760 with 3gb. So I don't know if there is just a setting that is off or what. I keep messing around with it... but the quality is just not good anymore. If anyone has any ideas let me know. I use vmix 24/7 to produce my online channel and it has always been perfect. So hopefully this is just a fix that I need to do. If anyone can help with any ideas let me know. Thanks -William

I have am having local recording and streaming issues with version 17 as well. Both local recording and streaming are choppy now. I am running into a windows 7 3.7GB file size limit after about 50 minutes of recording at 1080p/25mbps... I never saw these issues under version 16.
My machine has plenty of RAM, Core i7 plus NVIDIA 750 GTX Ti card.
Is it possible to rollback to 16 safely?

Are you using ffmpeg with hardware encoding enabled?
If so try to disable this option.

Frame Rate: NTSC 29.97p
MP4 Bit Rate: 25 Mbps
(Hardware Encorder Enabled)
Audio Bitrate: 192kbps
Reverted back to VMix 16 build 115
And my problems went away! (Records smooth with no jerkiness)
Note: Settings were identical for each test as I utilized the same preset
After 42 min 51 seconds - VMix 17 (latest build) created a 3.73Gb file
in comparison, the VMix 16 file size is 100Mb !
VMix 17 indicated a processor utilization from 77-88%
VMix 16 processor utilization is 25-28% (occasionally peaking to 32%)
Render times were comparable with version 16 more consistently lower
3-20ms as compared with version 17 from 5-29ms
Conclusion: Version 17 doesn't get along with my PC which was
purposely and professionally built for VMix in March

Have you updated the video card drivers....if you have, and still get this issue, try rolling back the drivers to an older version...sometimes some drivers do some crazy things.....That is why I use ATI cards......they seem to work better to me.....

First thing I would recommend is going back to the old graphics card.
If you upgraded the graphics card around the same time as 17, then it's hard to know where the problem lies.

The first thing to check is the recording settings, 100MB is not possible for a 42 minute video, so I suspect it only has the audio recorded in 16 or something like that
and 17 is actually recording it at the full quality now.
In any case, MP4 uses a lot of CPU under Windows 7 and always has, so try switching to AVI, MPEG-2 or some other format or alternatively look at upgrading to Windows 10.

Same problem was experienced with version 17 for both old and new video card drivers. It didn't seem to make a difference. The main variable was the upgrade to VMix 17. A bit curious as to why I would VMix 17 would create a 3.7Gb Mp4 file size with such a relatively low bitrate? Planning to move to Windows 10, but fear that may add yet another variable to trouble-shoot. However, from what I've read it seems to be a non-issue.

Please go to Settings -> About and click Send Support Report and drop us an email with your license key, something isn't adding up.
25Mbps = 187MB per minute = ~10GB per hour, so that is about right.
100MB is simply not possible, so it doesn't sound like an equal comparison is taking place.

I noticed when switching over to v17 that sometimes presets/settings for v16 did not work properly in v17. So we rebuilt the presets and settings from v17's defaults. Perphaps worth a try (kbarret and ccolewilliam)?
