The close input button is not needed in a setup that is ready and could be moved to a rightclick menu like reset. (or a option for hiding the button) When using a touchscreen sometimes it is pressed by accident. It can be blocked in the basic mode, but then a lot of other features are hidden.

The LOCK (bottom right of screen) stops accidental closing of inputs.

That's correct, but it is annoying to enable and disable the padlock everytime.
