Hi Jim,
Have you come across any good serial to USB converters?
In my experience most of them tend to be pretty unreliable so we could end up in the situation
where serial PTZ control would make a vMix system unstable and that is something I really want to avoid...
IP control is something most new PTZ cameras support and it is pretty foolproof to boot.

vMix Hi Martin, thanks for the reply. There is one model we have used very successfully for over three years now. Will let you know which one on Monday.

Curious to know what adapter was recommended.
Or is there a RS-232 cable that will connect directly to a PC Serial Port and connect to a PTZ?

Found out that the PTZ Optics cams can be controlled through vMix via Ethernet also.

I use this USB serial adapter regularly without issues for console access to network gear Trendnet USB Serial TU-S9 v2.0RWorking in Windows 10, but be sure to get V2.0 - older chipset may have problems with Win 10. I was able to get a Sony D70 working by making a cable and using this free software D70 CommanderDownload the D70 commander application. Stand alone .exe so no "oh by the way you need .net 2.0" and no annoying popups either.

Did anyone find a solution for RS232 convert to IP for VMIX?
AJA has new camera with RS232 protocol on USB com port. Is Vmix looking into supporting VISCA over RS232?
