vmix sees the device in its capture input drop-down but can't seem to make it work.

Thoughts?

I have just ordered a LGP because my streaming provider has tried it and likes it. They report that LGP works well with Xsplit. Will post my results with Vmix later this week.

The LGP is primarily a recording device, or a streaming device. You can only use it in one mode at a time. For capturing the video you would send the vmix output to a second diplay and connect the LGP in a daisy chain to that display. However, Avernmedia has just released some beta software to allow the LGP to be used as a source in vMix, xSplit, Wirecast, VidBlaster etc. The software is called Stream Engine. Found here:http://gamerzone.avermedia.com/support/download/live_gamer_portable

The LGP works extremely well as a field recorder or streamer. And one of the benefits is that you can work in PC free mode and record onto an SD card.

Hmm. Sounds like a great solution but my attempts to load the LGP via Stream Engine locks up vMix.

Any suggestions about the input settings in the Capture dialogue?

Thanks,

Michael

I can make the LGP work with Xsplit with no problem. I can also make Xspilt into a virtual camera that can be seen by Google Hangouts. But, I can't find the right settings for Vmix. I've tried using the LGP stream engine, but I'm not sure I'm using it correctly (start the program and then minimize it.) I'll be watching for solutions.

Hi

I have an LGP as well and have tried to connect to vMix using the Capture but receive an error "the device does not recognise the command".

If anyone has had success with this device could they please post.

Cheers

The Stream Engine driver appears to quite unstable with 3rd party applications.
It's still in Beta, so i'm guessing they will fix things before the final release.

Hi

Could not get this to work at all.

So I tried with VLC and I have a streaming feed to vMix.

Setup:

AverMedia LGP Stream Engine runing

VLC streaming LGPSE to rtsp port 8554 (default)

vMix -> Add Input -> Stream -> RTSPUDP rtsp://YourLocal:8554/

There is a delay.

You might want to evaluate the AverMedia ExtremeCap U3 device which is designed to produce an input rather than the streaming/recording that the LGP is for.

http://gamerzone.avermed...xtremecap_u3/features/en

"ExtremeCap U3 is an USB 3.0 capture card that is truly capable of recording and streaming 1080p 60fps gameplay via HDMI and component inputs. Beyond that, this capture card supports capturing HD raw data to popular video software with its DirectShow compatibility. Simply connect it with your game console and an USB 3.0 PC/ laptop, launch the video software you love, and you are ready to record or share your splendid gameplay footage."

I have gotten the LGP to work successfully after some trial and error. Make sure you are using the 32 bit version of vMix and not the 64 bit version (that will take care of the error). Also, make sure that you are running the Live Gamer Portable Stream Engine before you open vMix. Once I figured that out I have always had smooth streaming video and a wonderful experience using the LGP with vMix.
