Hi!

I have always found it difficult to position accurately my elements in multiview.

I use it a lot sometimes for complex compositing with up to 5 elements. I'd really like to be able to say I want my talent to be displayed at 80 pixels from the left and bottom and to be in a 640x360 pixels format. I'd like to be able to have 2 elements perfectly aligned or positionned next to each other but it's very difficult. It's never absolutely perfect.

This percentage slider is not very accurate and it takes a long time to be able to associate precisely many elements next to each other. I know there is a preset option, but I now have more than 100 presets in the list with very slight differences and as they have no name it is impossible to recognize the one I need (also they do not remember cropped sources). Besides I never use the same compositing for my productions.

I really think it would be easier if we could say : I want to use this camera or this NDI powerpoint source at "this" position and "this" size giving pixels parameters.

The only solution I found to have a perfect positionning is to use a graphic layer with transparent cutouts on top of everything else. Works but creates a weird effect when using the merge transition. Not so cool!

I understand it would complicate things for those who do not always use the same project settings (1080 vs 720 vs SD, etc) so maybe having a choice could be the solution.

Hope this was clear enough.

Thanks
Guillaume

Yep, it could be something like that
Any way of indicating in pixels the size and the positon of each element being in the multiview and accordingly to the crop settings

XYZ rotation isn't very interactive as well.

How about control click on the image enables xy rotation using both mouse axis and alt or right click
allowing z rotation.

This coupled with the position and size functions already available would make this interactive.
